River levels remain high on the River Esk due to rainfall associated with Storm Babet. Areas most at risk include Properties in Ruswarp on The Carrs, Sneaton Lane, Water Lane, Geln Esk Road and Riverside Walk. Further rainfall is expected overnight into Saturday, 21/10/2023. Levels are peaking and are expected to fall during the day. Our incident room is open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 08:30 am on 21/10/2023, or as the situation changes.
