Due to heavy rainfall throughout Thursday 26/09/2024, river levels are rising and may lead to flooding from the river Esk. Areas most at risk include properties in Ruswarp on The Carrs, Sneaton Lane, Water Lane, Geln Esk Road and Riverside Walk. Further rainfall is expected throughout the night / early morning on Friday, 27/09/2024. We are closely monitoring the situation. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 10:00 AM on 27/09/2024, or as the situation changes.
