Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Nunnykirk river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall overnight and throughout today. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected between 18:00 and 21:00 today, 10/08/2019. Areas most at risk are Properties and low lying areas around Cromwell Close, Netherwitton and Longshaws Mill. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated this evening, 10/08/2019, or as the situation changes.
