Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen at the Nunnykirk river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. River levels are currently dropping but further rainfall is expected throughout the night. Consequently, the risk of flooding to property, roads and farmland remains between 21:30 today, 10/08/2019 and 05:00 tomorrow, 11/08/2019. Areas most at risk are Properties and low lying areas around Cromwell Close, Netherwitton and Longshaws Mill. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 11/08/2019, or as the situation changes.
