This message has been issued because some flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely and flooding of homes and businesses is possible today and overnight. The River Gipping is rising steadily in response to the rainfall. Areas most at risk are riverside properties in Great Blakenham, Station Road and Old Paper Mill Lane in Claydon, Ship Lane in Bramford, Gipping Way and Lower Street in Sproughton. The forecast is for no significant rainfall over the next few days, which will allow river levels to start returning to normal. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message tomorrow, Sunday 22nd October 2023.
