Flood alert

This message has been issued because some minor flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside areas is likely from now and into tomorrow, Thursday 23rd May 2024. Areas most at risk are low lying roads and riverside areas on the River Gipping between Needham Market train station and Ipswich Boss Hall Industrial Estate, including Great Blakenham, Claydon, Bramford and Sproughton. We are not currently expecting the situation to escalate, or to issue any further warning messages at this time. The forecast is for further potentially heavy rainfall today, Wednesday 22nd May 2024. Take care on riverside footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation and not expecting the situation to escalate. We will update this message by 10am on Thursday 23rd May 2024, or as the situation changes.
