Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is expected. River levels have risen but are now falling on the River Loddon and River Blackwater as a result of heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying land, properties and roads is still expected this morning, 6 January 2024, especially in the Swallowfield area. River levels may reach levels similar to those of June 2021. The forecast for today, 6 January 2024, is for mostly dry conditions with the chance of some light showers, with a dry forecast for the next few days.
Our staff are liaising with councils and emergency services. Move possessions and valuables off the ground, or to safety. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. Avoid contact with flood water.
This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 7 January 2024, or as the situation changes.
