High river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight.
Flooding is expected on 06 December 2025 .
The River Parrett has risen following the heavy rain today. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Parrett, with low lying land and roads to be most affected, particularly around the River Parrett downstream of Gawbridge, the A356 at Chiselborough, the Norton Sub Hamdon to Stratton road and Parrett Works near Martock. Showers are forecast on Saturday followed by another band of rain on Sunday. On Monday night into Tuesday, another heavy rain front is forecast, which could bring further flooding impacts.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . We are checking defences and clearing bridges, culverts and screens.
Move family, pets and cars to safety and turn off gas, electricity and water if it is safe to do so . Activate any flood protection products you may have.
