Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels remain high and steady at the Gloucester river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding to property, roads and farmland continues. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in and around Gloucester. The A40 at Over may be affected. The A38 is close to flooding at Longford and Norton.
Peak:- Gloucester docks peaked at 4.7m Friday evening, 05/01/2024.
We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services and Local Authorities. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid contact with flood water.
This message will be updated by 7pm tomorrow, 07/01/24, or as the situation changes.
