Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising on the River Sheppey due to heavy rainfall today. This Flood Warning has been issued because flooding is expected from around 5PM today, 23/09/2024. Areas most at risk include the area around Charlton Viaduct, the Cider Factory and Draycott Road in Shepton Mallet, and the area around Jack’s Bridge in Croscombe. Residents are strongly urged to take action now.
Start acting on your flood plan if you have one, and consider activating any property flood protection products you may have. We are continually monitoring rainfall and river levels, and staff have been out checking rivers and weed screens in the area for blockages. Further rainfall is forecast tonight, before dry conditions are forecast tomorrow. This message will be updated by 2:00 PM tomorrow, 24/09/2024, or as the situation changes.
