We are issuing the flood warning for the River Swale at Brompton on Swale Caravan park and Brompton Lakes due to heavy rain associated with Storm Ciara. Widespread heavy rain accompanied by high winds are forecast through to Sunday afternoon, 09/02/2020. River levels are rising at Catterick Bridge and will continue to rise along the Swale catchment through Sunday. The River Swale level at Catterick Bridge is currently 2.73m and is forecast to reach 3.3m around 13:00 on Sunday afternoon. Levels are forecast to continue to rise until mid-afternoon, with the current forecast peaking around 3.5m. We are monitoring the situation closely. Our Incident Room is open, and operational staff are out clearing trash screens. We will update this message in 8 hours or as the situation changes.
