Flooding expected. Take action now.
Persistent rain over the Tamar catchment has caused the River Tamar to rise. A further 20-30mm of rain is forecast this evening and flooding is expected.
Property flooding is possible at Bridegrule from early evening. Highway flooding is also likely on the A3072 between Holsworthy and Red Post, and between North Tamerton and Clawton. The river level is expected to peak at around 9pm and could remain high for several hours afterwards. We expect the river level to drop gradually in the early hours of the morning as the rainfall becomes lighter and more showery.
Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.
Take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. We are monitoring river levels and have staff in the area ready to respond as required. This message will be updated Monday morning or earlier if the situation changes.
