Flood warning

Property flooding is expected.

River levels are falling on the River Thame at Dorchester following heavy rainfall earlier in the week from Storm Bert. Flooding of properties, low lying land, and roads is expected to continue today, 29/11/2024. Areas most at risk are properties closest to the river where it passes through Dorchester.

Today is forecast to be mainly dry, followed by light rain in places overnight. River levels are expected to continue falling but will remain high over the coming days as water moves downstream.

We are monitoring the situation. Move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Do not drive through flood water.

This message will be updated this evening, 29/11/2024, or as the situation changes.
