Property flooding is expected. River levels are rising on the River Thames in the Pangbourne and Whitchurch area as a result of recent heavy rainfall and water moving downstream. Therefore, flooding of low lying, roads and property is expected overnight tonight, 05/01/2024, especially in the areas closest to the river. Areas most at risk are those closest to the river in Pangbourne, including The Wharf, and on Shooters Hill. There is the potential for further showers which may be heavy at times, overnight, 05/01/2024. We expect river levels to continue rising over the coming 48 hours. We are monitoring the situation. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 06/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
