Property flooding is expected. River levels are high but falling slowly on the River Thames in the Pangbourne and Whitchurch area as a result of recent heavy rainfall and water moving downstream. Flooding of low lying land, roads and property is expected to continue today, 08/01/2024, especially in the areas closest to the river. Areas most at risk are those closest to the river in Pangbourne, including The Wharf, and on Shooters Hill. This morning is forecast to be mainly dry, with the possibility of wintry showers this afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals are not expected to be significant. Tomorrow is forecast to be mainly dry. River levels are expected to continue falling slowly over the next couple of days, but levels will remain high as water moves downstream. We are monitoring the situation. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated this evening, 08/01/24, or as the situation changes.
