Property flooding is expected. River levels are rising on the River Thames in the Pangbourne and Whitchurch area as a result of recent heavy rainfall and water moving downstream. Flooding of low lying land, roads and property is expected to continue today, 07/01/2024, especially in the areas closest to the river. Areas most at risk are those closest to the river in Pangbourne, including The Wharf, and on Shooters Hill. Today and tomorrow are forecast to be mainly dry with a chance of wintry showers. We expect river levels to continue rising slowly over the next couple of days as water makes its way downstream. We expect levels to reach or exceed those seen in January 2003. We are monitoring the situation. Activate any property flood protection products such as flood barriers. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated by this evening, 07/01/24, or as the situation changes.
