Flood alert

High river levels may lead to flooding on Monday 9th February and overnight into Tuesday 10th. Catchments are saturated and rivers remain very responsive to rainfall.

Areas most at risk include roads around Hillfarrance, Bradford on Tone, Lane End Road at Ham and the Creech St Michael to Henlade road. Bradford on Tone ringbanks may be bankfull.

A band of persistent rain, at times heavy, is forecast through the afternoon and evening of today, Monday 9th February. Tuesday sees further bands of rainfall arriving from the southwest, although totals are expected to be lower than on Monday.

We are continuing to closely monitor the rainfall and river levels. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Refer to the local authority website for road closure information. This message will be updated by 1PM on 10th February 2026 or as the situation changes.
