Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Shardlow river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall and snow melt. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible to begin between 02:00 and 07:00 tomorrow, 08/01/25.
Areas most at risk are Twyford, including the Twyford Village access road, and the A5132 between Willington, Barrow, and Meadow Lane.
Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Thursday on 09/01/25.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and turn off gas, electricity and water.
