Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

Heavy rain has fallen across the River Welland catchment over the past few days however drier conditions are expected for the rest of today, Friday 25th December. River levels have peaked upstream and flood water is still making its way down the catchment. As a result we are expecting properties in Stamford to continue to be affected. Levels are expected to start receding overnight however there is more rain due on Sunday and Monday. Low lying properties near the river are most at risk. Stay safe, and aware of your local surroundings. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments and flood water. We are monitoring the situation, and have staff in the area checking flood defences, clearing blockages, and assisting the Emergency Services and Council. This message will be updated again on Saturday, 26th December, or as the situation changes.
