Flooding expected. Take action now.
Heavy rain has fallen across the River Welland catchment over the past few days, with further rain expected overnight, Saturday 26th December. River levels have peaked upstream and flood water is still making its way down the catchment. As a result of this, we are expecting properties in Stamford to continue to be affected over the weekend, 26/27th December. Low lying properties near the river are most at risk. Stay safe, and be aware of your local surroundings. Avoid riverside paths and please stay away from river embankments and flood water. We are monitoring the situation, and have staff in the area checking flood defences, clearing blockages, and assisting the Emergency Services and Council. This message will be updated again on Sunday, 27th December, or as the situation changes.
