Flood warning

River levels are rising steadily on the River Wyre due to heavy rainfall.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Wyre, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the area adjacent to the North bank of the River Wyre at Kirkland Bridge covering properties on The Avenue and the A6. Flooding to properties is not forecast at this point. Further rainfall is forecast this afternoon and river levels are expected to remain high. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels closely, as well as checking rivers for blockages in the area.
Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 04:00 PM on 23/07/2023, or as the situation changes.
