Flooding expected. Take action now.
This message has been issued because flooding of homes and businesses is possible today, Thursday 4th January. River levels are rising steadily in response to the recent rainfall. Areas most at risk are Cringleford, Old Lakenham and Trowse Newton, including the railway line. The forecast is for continued unsettled weather over the next couple of days, with further rain showers throughout the week. It is likely that we may need to issue more warning messages for a wider area, over the next few days. Take care on riverside footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation. We will update this message tomorrow, Friday 5th January 2024.
