River Yealm at Yealmbridge and Yealmpton

Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding overnight. 
Flooding is expected from the early hours of 16 December 2025 . 
The period of heavy rain is expected to clear by around midnight, although heavy showers are expected to follow into the night. Rivers levels are expected to respond to this further rainfall.
Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 12:30am and 01:30am.
The main areas of concern are properties and low lying areas around Sandpark Wood at Yealmbridge, and Mill Leat Close, Torr Bridge Park and Boldventure at Yealmpton.
Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas.
River levels are forecast to be at their highest around 3am. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Monitor local water levels and weather conditions and activate any flood protection products you may have. 
This message will be updated by 12:00PM on 16 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
