Flood alert

High river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 28 January 2026 .River levels continue to be high following recent rainfall.
Areas most at risk are low lying roads and riverside areas on the River Box from Little Waldingfield to Thorrington Street, including Boxford, and on the River Brett from Cockfield to Higham, including Hadleigh. The weather forecast is improving, and we expect levels to start returning to normal soon.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses .
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 29 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
