Flood alert

High river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible from the morning of 07 February 2026 .
River levels are rising in places following the recent rainfall. Areas most at risk are low lying land and riverside areas on the Blackwater from Radwinter to Langford, including Great Sampford, Bridge End, Finchingfield, Bocking, Bradwell, Coggeshall and Kelvedon, and Braintree, Black Notley, White Notley and Witham on the Brain.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels . Further rainfall is forecast so river levels may remain high.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water .
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 08 February 2026 or as the situation changes.
