Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 8 February 2026 River levels remain high, but are slowly falling.
Areas most at risk are low lying land and riverside areas on the Blackwater from Radwinter to Langford, including Great Sampford, Bridge End, Finchingfield, Bocking, Bradwell, Coggeshall and Kelvedon. And Braintree, Black Notley, White Notley and Witham on the Brain.
Further light rainfall is forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
This message will be updated by 10am Monday 9 February or as the situation changes.
