Following persistent heavy rainfall, levels in the River Rother have risen and are continuing to do so. Property flooding around Robertsbridge is possible from 14:30 today, Friday 20/12/19. It is anticipated that river levels will continue to rise until late afternoon. Rainfall will ease through today, 20/12/19 and a period of dry weather is expected between now and Saturday morning, 21/12/19. Our operations staff have partially deployed defences to protect property within Robertsbridge and will undertake a full deployment if necessary. Further rainfall is forecast over the coming days meaning river levels will remain high. Please stay away from the river and do not enter flood water. Consider moving personal belongings to higher ground. We are monitoring the situation and our staff are patrolling the catchment to check for debris and clear blockages.
