South Cornwall Coast from Lands End to Lizard Point

Flood alert

Flooding is possible for all high tides from the evening of Friday 18th to the evening of Saturday 19th September. High water at Newlyn on Friday evening is 18:15, Saturday at 06:45 and 19:00. Times of high water vary along the coast. Tides are rising to spring tides, peaking on Saturday. High tide levels, along with force 5 to 6 east north easterly winds and associated south coast easterly waves are forecast. This could result in minor overtopping and spray along the coast. Flooding may affect edges of quays likely to flood including any low lying car parks and roads with particular emphasis on Newlyn and Penzance. Install flood protection products, such as flood barriers and air brick covers. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast. We will monitor the situation and update this message if situation changes.
