Flooding expected. Take action now.
High tides are expected to cause flooding over the next two days.
Flooding is expected on the mornings of Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 February 2026.
Areas particularly at risk include exposed coastal areas of Plymouth Sound including Cawsand, Kingsand and The Hoe, Millbrook, and low lying areas on the Tidal Lynher, Tamar, Tavy, Plym and Yealm estuaries. High tides of concern at Plymouth are: Wednesday 07:24 and Thursday 08:00, times of high water vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide levels are set to peak at 3.01mAOD on Wednesday morning. Expect tide levels along the coast to be between 0.48 and 0.51 metres above tide table level. Moderate force 5 SE winds and offshore wave heights of up to 2.5m are forecast.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded and activate any flood protection products you may have.
