Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels may lead to flooding on Tuesday 10th February and overnight into Wednesday 11th. Catchments are saturated and rivers remain very responsive to rainfall.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Isle and River Parrett, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around roads at Ashford Mill, Isle Brewers, Fivehead, the Norton sub Hambdon to Stratton road, the A356 and the B3165 at Chiselborough and the B3168 at Ilford Bridges. The lower River Parrett is bankful and the spillways are running.
Further bands of rainfall are expected during Tuesday 10th February and through Wednesday. The outlook remains unsettled with further rain over the coming days, turning cooler and potentially drier on Friday and Saturday.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 1PM on 11th February 2026 or as the situation changes.
