Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Water levels in the Stanbridge Stream are high and rising. In the last 48 hours, more than half a month’s rain (68mm) has been recorded in Petersfield. The majority of which, has fallen in the last 24 hours. To keep the river flowing freely at Borough Grove, our operations staff have repeatedly cleared the debris screen. Levels will still remain relatively high over the next few hours. The river will also be high at Bedford Road Industrial Estate and behind Borough Road. Showers continue today, but they are patchier in nature, so should give the river a chance to recover. High water levels are expected at least until lunchtime. Keep away from the river bank as water will be fast flowing and deep in some places. This message will be updated by 15:00 on 11/11/2018 or sooner, should we think that property flooding will occur.
