Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels remain high on Swinney Beck due to heavy rainfall associated with Storm Henk. Flooding is forecast to affect locations and properties near Swinney Beck, particularly around Masham including properties situated off the A6108, Fearby Road, Westholme Road, Leyburn Road, The Avenue, Avenue Bank, Quaker Terrance, Silver Street and College Lane. Further rainfall is forecast in the next few days and we expect levels to remain high. Our incident room is open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions and please put your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 10:00 AM on Wednesday 03/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
