Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have risen on Swinney Beck due to rainfall from today, Monday 29/01/2024 and overnight into Tuesday 30/01/2024. Flooding is forecast to affect locations and properties near the Swinney Beck, with low-lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Masham including properties situated off the A6108, Fearby Road, Westholme Road, Leyburn Road, The Avenue, Avenue Bank, Quaker Terrance, Silver Street and College Lane. Flooding is expected from Monday evening. Further rainfall is forecast on Tuesday. Our incident rooms will be opening and we are closely monitoring the situation. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 11:30pm on Monday 29/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
