Flood warning

This message has been issued because flooding of homes and businesses is likely, in response to today's rainfall, Sunday 18 February 2024. River levels are currently high, but are expected to start to drop back down. The watercourse will remain responsive to any further rainfall. Areas most at risk are riverside properties in Haverhill and Sturmer, and the A1307 and A143. The forecast is for a generally improving weather picture, but with the chance of the odd shower pushing through the catchment. The forecast is for some light showers on Monday 19 February and Tuesday 20 February. Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk. We are monitoring the situation. We will update this message tomorrow, Monday 19 February.
