Flood warning

High river levels are expected to cause flooding today. 
Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 following heavy rain today. 
Areas most at risk are riverside properties in Haverhill and Sturmer, and the A1307 and A143. It is likely that we may need to issue more warning messages for a wider area, over the next few hours. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . 
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 28 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
