Friday lunchtime’s tide at 13:58 on 21/08/20 is higher than normal due to unsettled weather with strong Force 6 winds. The weather increases tide table values by 0.17m giving a forecast tide of 6.96 metres Chart Datum (3.69 mAOD) at Shoreham. For 1 hour either side of high water, the tide will come close to the top of walls and slipways in Shoreham Town. Minor impact flooding will affect Sussex Yacht Club. Riverbank houseboats will be raised higher than normal, making access to them temporarily more difficult. After this tide no further impacts are expected.We continue to monitor the forecast, and may close our defence gates at Oyster Quay. If you have it, please install flood protection 1 hour before high tide. This message will be removed by 16:30 on 21/08/2020.
