Flooding possible. Be prepared.
A Flood Alert for the Tidal River Ouse, Don and the Dutch River Catchment remains in force today, Sunday 20 October 2024.
Areas most at risk include the south bank of the River Ouse from Airmyn to Whitgift and the River Don and Dutch River from Thorne to Goole.
This alert will remain in force for the current series of high spring tides and applies especially to morning tides. The tidal levels will gradually drop off as we enter the new working week, therefore we anticipate removing this alert after the Monday morning high tide.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will be in the area checking our flood defences during this sequence of high tides.
Strong winds associated with Storm Ashley are expected today, Sunday 20 October 2024. Please stay well away from sea fronts and river embankments during this period. To report flooding or to report an issue that could lead to imminent flooding, please call our Incident Hotline on 0800 80 70 60.
This message will be updated by 09:00 on Monday 21 October 2024 or as the situation changes.
