Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding this morning.
Flooding is expected on 16 December 2025 due to heavy rainfall over night.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Upper Dorset Frome, Hooke River, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Dorchester Road and Frome Lane area of Maiden Newton. Weather conditions are expected to improve throughout Tuesday with little rainfall expected. There is another band of rainfall expected to hit Wednesday afternoon into Thursday that may see river levels rise again.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .
Start acting on your flood plan if you have one and take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
