Flooding possible. Be prepared.
Persistent rain will continue until 17:00 15/02/2026. Only a small river rise is currently expected. Flood impacts should remain minor, affecting only fields and rural roads. From 18:00 15/2/2026 minor flood impacts could possibly approach gardens of isolated riverside properties near Bridge Cottage on the B2028, and on Sloop Lane. From 22:00 15/2/2026 minor flood impacts could affect Fletching Mill Bridge, Sharpsbridge, the Anchor Inn, and Barcombe Mills road. River levels should peak, and begin to fall by 02:00 16/02/2026 near Ardingly, but not until 14:00 16/02/2026 near Barcombe. Only isolated showers are forecast Monday and Tuesday, which should allow river levels to fall nearer to a normal level in all communities. However widespread rain is forecast for Wednesday. Flood risk could return Wednesday. Unsettled weather could continue throughout February. We are operating structures at Pimms Lock and Barcombe to reduce flood risk. Avoid roads that flood, including Barcombe Mills Road. This message will be updated by 20:00 16/02/2026.
