Upper River Stour

Flood Alert

River levels are now falling but remain high as a result of heavy rainfall from Storm Dennis. Flooding of low lying land and roads, particularly around Great Chart is expected to continue overnight into Wednesday, 19 February. Aldington and Hothfield Flood Storage areas are expected to continue to store flood water until Thursday 20 February, as water levels gradually fall. Please avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded, and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. We are monitoring the situation and our incident response staff will continue to be out in this area, checking structures and clearing blockages. This message will be updated by 9am on Wednesday 19 February.

This information last updated 5:39pm, Tuesday 18th February.
