Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood Warning

River levels are rising rapidly at the Warenford river gauge as a result of heavy and persistent rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property and roads is expected from approximately 04:30 in the morning, Thursday, 13th June 2019. Areas most at risk include Budle Bay Campsite. Rainfall is forecast to continue over the next few hours and we expect river levels to peak at 07:30, Thursday 13th June. River levels will remain high throughout the rest of Thursday. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff have been deployed in the area. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads, and avoid contact with flood water. River levels at Warenford can be viewed on the GOV.UK website. This message will be updated by 08:00 Thursday 13th June 2019, or earlier if the situation changes.
