Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding tomorrow morning.
Flooding is expected from 2:30 AM on 27/01/2025.
Areas most at risk include properties situated behind East Beach, including Pier Terrace, Waterside, The Bay House, The Old Watch House, Bridport Arms Hotel, Seagulls, Swains Row, The Old Timber Yard, Station Road, Station Way and George Street.
Further flooding is expected tomorrow evening due to higher than normal tides combined with south-westerly force 8 winds and large onshore waves.
We are closely monitoring the situation and liaising with emergency services and local authorities.
We are installing temporary defences.
Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads  as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous.
Refer to local authority website for road closures.
Please do not drive through floodwater as bow waves may affect adjacent properties.
Don't put yourself or others at risk.
This message will be updated by 3:00 PM on 27/01/2025, or as the situation changes.
