Flooding expected. Take action now.
High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding tomorrow morning.
Flooding is expected from 07:00 am to 11:00 am on 09 December 2025.
Areas most at risk include properties situated behind East Beach, including Pier Terrace, Waterside, The Bay House, The Old Watch House, Bridport Arms Hotel, Seagulls, Swains Row, The Old Timber Yard, Station Road, Station Way and George Street. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at West Bay of 2.39 mAODN at 9:00AM, which is 0.49m above tide tables, with Southerly force 7 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.) After this tide the weather is more settled and no further impacts are expected.
We are closely monitoring the situation and deploying flood barriers.
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded and activate any flood protection products you may have.
