River levels are forecast to rise at the Sharpness Gauge as a result of high tides. Flooding is possible on the high tide on Friday morning the 21/08/20.
Predicted peaks:
Avonmouth 14.9 to 15.1m at 9:30am on 21/08/20
Sharpness 10.7 to 10.9m at 10:15am on 21/08/20
The following areas could be affected by flooding;
Property at Westbury, Broadoak and Newnham due to the overtopping of the Tidal defences.
A4 8 at Newnham
The period of high tides is expected for the next 2 days including Saturday.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid driving through flood water.
