Severe flooding expected. Take action immediately.
A severe flood warning is in force for Westbury, Broadoak and Newnham on the Severn Estuary. Severe flooding is expected from Friday morning due to strong winds, high waves and a high tide between 07:30 and 11:30, 18/02/2022. There is danger to life. You need to take action immediately to implement your emergency flood plan as severe flooding to homes and main roads is expected. The level at the Sharpness gauge will reach up to 10.8mASD during the high tide tomorrow morning and levels will remain high for a prolonged period of time due to a tidal surge with very strong winds and large waves.. We are working closely with emergency services. If you feel your life is threatened, please dial 999 for assistance. This message will be updated by midday on 18/02/2022.
