Wortley Beck Catchment Flood alert 11:15pm, Thursday 5th December 2024

Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

River levels have peaked and are now falling on Wortley Beck/ Farnley Beck, following heavy rainfall earlier this evening, Thursday 5th December 2024. No further significant rainfall is expected overnight and river levels are expected to continue to fall into tomorrow morning, however levels remain high. A Flood Alert remains in force and flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, therefore please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses.

Further rainfall and strong winds associated with Storm Darragh are forecast from tomorrow afternoon and into Saturday which will likely cause further river response. We continue to monitor the situation closely.
