Flood warning

The Cuckmere River is still slowly rising in Alfriston, following Thursday's rain. Flooding will continue to affect North Street, River Lane, The Old Clergy House, Deans Place Hotel, Alfriston. Only isolated showers are forecast Friday to Tuesday, which should not increase flood risk significantly. River levels should peak in Alfriston by 13:00 16/01/2026, but flood impacts could remain until Sunday. We are closely monitoring the situation. Don't put yourself or others at risk. Avoid roads that flood (North Street Alfriston). This message will be updated by 14:00 17/01/2026.
