Flooding expected. Take action now.
High river levels are expected to cause flooding on Thursday.
Flooding is expected on 19 February 2026 from 13:00, as a lot of rain (30mm) fell on Wednesday.
Flooding will affect fields, rural roads, gardens, and properties including The Old Clergy House, Deans Place Hotel, and properties near North Street, Willows Car Park and River Lane, Alfriston. Access along Litlington Road may be restricted by flood water. Only a small amount of rain is forecast over the next 5 days. River levels and flood risk should begin to reduce in Alfriston by 18:00 19/02/2026.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Don't put yourself or others at risk . Avoid roads that flood (North Street, Willows Car Park, Litlington Road).
