Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

Rivers remain high and flooding is possible on Tuesday 27th January. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Cannington Brook, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Huntworth Business Park Rhyne, Stockmoor Rhyne, Hamp Brook and Durleigh Brook in Bridgwater, Cannington Brook at Cannington, Combwich Brook at Combwich and the Stogursey area. After significant rain overnight, we are expecting less rain for the remainder of Tuesday and into Wednesday however blustery showers are forecast which may be heavy at times. We are closely monitoring the situation and checking flood defences. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 1:00PM on 28 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
