Flooding expected. Take action now.
Rising river levels are causing flooding throughout the afternoon. Flooding is expected to continue until 18:00 PM this evening.
Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Bristol Avon, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Broadmead Lane, Keynsham. The Shallows and Mead Lane, Saltford. Flooding is also forecast to affect the Riverside Cottages area near Hanham and properties in Swineford and Keynsham if the river continues to rise.
Further rainfall is forecast this afternoon which will keep river levels high but steady at the Bathford gauge.
Our incident rooms are open and we are monitoring rainfall and river levels. We are clearing debris from weed screens and liaising with emergency services and local authorities.
Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
If you have been evacuated only return to your property once the emergency services have advised that it is safe to do so.
